Who Should Attend: This training is for HR professionals, safety professionals/instructors, risk managers, supervisors, and dept. leaders. Anyone at your company who has a role in safety and educate other employees.

Session Description: Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of unintentional workplace deaths in Texas. An average workplace motor vehicle crash costs an employer more than $24,000. If the employee is injured, the average cost increases to more than $125,000. Employers must realize the full extent of their exposure to liability, as multi-million dollar settlements become increasingly common for lawsuits involving motor vehicle crashes.

About half of all crash-related injuries result in days away from work, which can greatly affect employer costs, including:

  • Crash-related legal expenses
  • Contributions to workers’ compensation
  • Health, life and disability insurance premiums
  • Liability insurance
  • Lost productivity
  • Recruiting and training to replace an injured employee
  • Sick leave

This training covers a variety of traffic safety topics:

  • Making a Difference

  • Speeding/Aggressive Driving

  • Distracted Driving
  • Fatigued/Drowsy Driving
  • Impaired Driving
  • Passenger Restraint

The Making a Difference overview module describes the problem driving behaviors and the impact to employers. The behavior-specific presentations discuss and reinforce good driving habits.

After completing the training, participants will receive their own copy of the curriculum.
